First Shot Blind – Looking at 2018 Rookies

Walker Buehler Top shelf fastball and breaking ball, so good that he’ll get over without good control, at least to the level of erratic. He will throw some gems, no doubt, and that’s the best place to start. But Buehler’s control needs work before he’ll be great. The question is how will he crack the Dodgers’ rotation and the question will answer itself if he starts hot in AAA. Without more than one injury he won’t start in LA. In NL leagues I can’t spend more than a few bucks on that, but without question he’s worth a top mixed league reserve pick. Buehler is also a candidate to be a wipeout multi-inning reliever. $3
