Shortstop Rankings

Trea Turner – Unique cats circa 2018 make him a legit 1st rounder, but he’s got work to do as a hitter.
Correa – Keep him on the field.
Lindor – Why doesn’t he run more? How is he better than Jose Ramirez?
Corey Seager – Injury concerns appear unfounded, could be a bargain.
Bogaerts – No bargain as I thought he might be. Don’t think I’ll pony up.
Bregman 3B – Helium Boy 2018.
Story – Big swing potential is IN ITSELF a good thing, add Coors and hidden speed.
Segura – Building block.
Andrus – You pay a little more for the “certainty,” not a lot more.
J Baez 2B – Have to have him somewhere as a guy who could go a whole lot higher next year.
Gregorius – They expected “regression” last year too. Bats higher in the order this year.
Semien – Nickname should be “Semen” Semien. Building block when he plays.
Marwin Gonzalez 1B 2B OF – Here he is again.
Cozart – ADP rising but still 225. A gift
Orlando Arcia – I would feel fine with Cozart and Arcia as my SS and MI. Arcia could pull a Segura rather easily, and has a floor.
Peraza 2B – Can’t go far wrong here, that counts for something in today’s SB-starved world.
Tim Anderson – Can run more, should run more, will run more?
Addison Russell – I take his hot spring as a good sign.
Simmons – No good reason he won’t repeat.
DeJong – This is another very deep position – 10 years ago DeJong would have gone in the 5th round.
Brandon Crawford – Pity about the home park.
Tim Beckham – We’re not done yet at SS.
Solarte 2B 3B  – What I said before.
Amed Rosario – Another young player with a higher floor than at first glance.
Asdrubel Cabrera 2B 3B  Makes it easier to take injury-prones with backups like this.
Galvis – Has surprised before.
Swanson – Category-challenged but could develop.
Jose Iglesias – I’m calling a career year, .285 with 10/10.
Chris Owings – Slated for the super-utility role, which makes him a virtual certainty to be a regular for weeks at a time. Or more. Good reserve.
Tulo – About the last guy I would take, which I guess you can see.
Ketel Marte – Zero SBs this spring, one caught stealing.
